Ochiguri-iro is a dark brown ink with self-sheening properties.
The colour of the reddish brown of fallen chestnuts. The Tale of Genji states, "A long, thin piece of dark blue, with fallen chestnuts, or something like that, a set of lined hakama worn by people of the past...", which shows that it was a popular colour at the time.
TAG Stationery's Kyo No Oto Collection focuses on the Sounds of Kyoto, these writing inks that recreate traditional Japanese colours used since the Heian period with modern techniques and interpretations. Each colour has its own unique name and story.
This dye ink was developed exclusively by TAG STATIONERY in collaboration with the Kyoto Plant Dyeing Laboratory, a group of dyeing and weaving experts.
Made in Japan.
