At the entrance of temples, one often finds a pair of stone lions. The male lion steps on a decorative ball, while the female lion nurtures a cub. Day and night, they guard the temple, providing visitors with a sense of peace and tranquillity.
Guardian Beast refer to the loyal protectors often seen in Taiwanese traditional beliefs. Some guard temples, other preserve history, some calm strong winds, and others have served under different religious beliefs. These guardian beasts silently safeguard people across Taiwan.
