Collection: Kirako

Chie grew up surrounded by the serene beauty of the ocean and mountains (Minamisoma City in Fukushima Prefecture)—an influence that continues to inspire her creations today. After years of pursuing her passion in the fashion industry, Chie founded her own brand, Nonchi, blending her name with her daughter’s to create a line of handmade goods.

The 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake impacted Chie's life, reminding her of the fragility of existence and the powerful forces of nature. During these years as an evacuee, she realized just how deeply nature shapes our lives and perspectives. This insight led her to embrace a new path—one that would bring her even closer to nature’s beauty through the art of glass. Chie then embarked on a creative journey through a new dimension lampwork (glassblowing).  In 2022, Chie took a bold step and opened her own workshop and store, Kirako, where her glass art quickly gained recognition both in Japan and internationally. Chie expanded her artistry to include stunning glass pens, learning from master artist Kiyoshi Matsumura.

Each of her glass pens is not just a writing tool but a carefully crafted work of art, designed to capture the beauty of nature's wonders.
