In the Kokin Wakashu, there is a poem that says, "If the cherry blossoms in the fields of Fukakusa have the heart, they will bloom in ink-dyed colors this year." This is a poem that expresses the mourning and remembrance of the deceased, and asks the cherry blossoms to bloom in ink-dyed colours.
